The NEC Uzima Limited has scooped the People’s Choice Award 2025 in the category of Bottled drinking Water. The award ceremony took place at Imperial Royal Hotel on 29th August 2025. The function was presided over by Hon Betty Amongi, the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development. The Minister appreciated the organisations for creating jobs for Ugandans.
The NEC Uzima Ltd was represented by the General Manager, Major Edgar Mugizi Ankwasa accompanied by Heads of Departments and Senior Personnel.
This was the third consecutive People’s Choice Award that Uzima Natural Mineral Water has won in the last three years. The Head of Sales and Marketing Mr. Kansiime Richard Kanyoomozi reiterated the rigorous tests and utmost carefulness taken in the production of Uzima Natural Mineral Water to ensure the best Quality Product for our clients. In his remarks, the General Manager NEC Uzima Limited expressed gratitude to the customers that have supported the Company thus far leading to this recognition. He observed that the confidence exhibited by the clients in Uzima Natural Mineral Water is a challenge that the company will take up to continue maintaining high quality standards for its products.

Having been incorporated on 30th July 2015, NEC Uzima Ltd is registered to carry out beverage business and sales under the brand name ‘Uzima Natural Mineral Water’. The company currently produces bottled drinking water in 330ml, 500ml, 1.5 litres and 18.9 litres. The water is abstracted from mineral rich aquifers and processed through advanced technology of multi-barrier filtration, ultraviolet (UV) treatment and ozonation to deliver quality and safe product to customers. The product is certified by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) under the Natural Mineral Water Standards US EAS: 13 and authorised to use the ‘Q’ mark as a symbol of quality and safety of the product. Production and Sales started in January 2016. The company supply stores are located at NEC Headquarters on plot 2 Muwesi Rd Bugolobi next to Uganda Batteries Limited. The company’s target clients include government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Non-Government Organisations and members of the General Public.
